Shivkumar Kambhampati, a junior studying Biomedical Engineering at GWU, has been awarded a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for the 2007-2008 academic year. The Goldwater Scholarship is given to students studying science and engineering that have excelled in their academic and research pursuits. His career goals are to pursue an M.D./Ph.D. in diagnostic radiology and to conduct research in the field of forensic computer tomography to create improved 3-D CT images of the brain to diagnose cerebrovascular accidents and intracranial hemorrhage.
