ECE students and faculty enjoyed the well-attended spring semester evening social on February 25th at the new Science and Engineering Hall (SEH). Students met other members of the ECE community and made new friends while enjoying food and the relaxed environment. The social event provided an opportunity for ECE students and faculty to meet outside classrooms, get to know each other better, discuss issues and ideas, and forge stronger student-faculty bonds, serving to make our ECE community stronger and more vibrant. GW's IEEE student chapter set up a display table where many ECE students, including freshmen, became familiar with the IEEE student organization and their activities. As a result, twenty-six ECE students signed up to attend future IEEE activities and potentially become new members. The GW Tech Collective, another student organization invited to attend, attracted many students to their table where they demonstrated interesting electrical and electronic gadgets made by students, devices with blinking LEDs and some fun applications. Last, but not least, students enjoyed speaking with recently graduated alumni Emma Fletcher (CE’13, Intel Corp. Ca.), Adam McCormack (CE’13, Citigroup, NY), Brandon Bernier (EE’14, ECE Grad. Student, GW), and Mark Tentindo (EE’14, ECE Grad. Student, GW).
