Outdoor Class

students attending class outside

Dr. Korman’s ECE 2110 Circuit Theory lecture has been held in a basement classroom for most of the semester, an environment that neither the instructor nor the students were happy with.  When the outside weather turned picturesque one day, the students asked Dr. Korman if they could move the class outside to enjoy the sunshine.  While they were not able to go out on that particular day, Dr. Korman promised that if they could arrange for a portable white board, he’d have the next class session outside in Kogan Plaza, next to Monroe Hall.  On April 14, 2022, when the weather once again was pleasant, the class met outside and engaged with eagerness in the lecture and discussion, despite the numerous distractions around the plaza.  Dr. Korman has recommended that any course with 25 or less students occasionally meet outdoors in order to enjoy the weather and reinvigorate the interest of the students.
