Faculty and students in GW’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering conduct research programs in communications and networks; computer architecture and high-performance computing; electric power and energy; electromagnetics, radiation systems, and microwave engineering; MEMS/NEMS, electronics, and photonics; and signal and image processing, systems, and controls. Our teaching and research facilities are located both on the Foggy Bottom campus in the heart of Washington, DC and at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus (VSTC), a 100-acre site in Loudon County, Virginia, that is home to one the nation’s four sites for the Center for High-Performance Reconfigurable Computing (CHREC), a national research center.
