Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
The department is home to three programs in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS): electrical, computer, and telecommunications engineering. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as five-year bachelor of science/master of science degrees, and a certificate in high performance computing.
Several areas of focus are available within each field. These areas of focus reflect the research expertise of the faculty, as well as the different graduate courses offered in the department.
Our faculty conduct research in a number of areas across the electrical, computer, and telecommunications engineering fields, and they have received prestigious research awards and grants from the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and other institutions.
Undergraduate students in the department have the opportunity to participate actively in their research programs, alongside graduate students and the faculty.
The department also offers advising, lecture series, and periodic social events, all designed to assist you in your academic growth or round out your academic experience.
Thank you for visiting our web site, and I encourage you to visit us in-person, too, if possible. Come learn more about the advantages of studying computer, electrical, or telecommunications engineering at the George Washington University.
